Peace, Love, & Rock & Roll Run

RACE DETAILS:

The Fund Run is not only a family-friendly fun event aimed to keep kids active and strong, it is also an AIS FUNDraiser. Our goal this year is to raise $13,250 to support our groovy school.

Our students run or walk as many laps around our building as they can in one hour (30 minutes for PS & MS students). We track the laps and celebrate as a community afterward.

MAKE SURE YOUR STUDENT IS REGISTERED BY MAY 10, 2022.

Please do the following to participate:

1) REGISTER YOUR STUDENT(S) TO RUN by purchasing ticket(s) here.

2) GATHER PLEDGES FROM FRIENDS & FAMILIES. You may either collect pledges per lap run or collect flat donations. We will pass out pledge forms in student backpacks. We want to keep the spirit of this event fun with the cause in mind. We will track laps for pledge collections, but please be mindful that every participant will be an achiever! We will celebrate the success of all the runners at the end of each race with refreshments and treats.

To minimize contact, we will not pass out bracelets this year, but each REGISTERED participant will receive a pedometer watch to track steps. These steps will be transferred to laps to use for per lap donation tallies. After the race, make sure to check in with our volunteers. We will tally their run and then the runner can keep their watch.

3) DONATE TO THE EVENT IN ANY AMOUNT to help support this event. Registration fees don't quite cover the cost of t-shirts and event supplies, so thank you for donating to this amazing event to help us reach our final fundraising goal of the year to raise $13,250!

4) BECOME AN EVENT SPONSOR! If you would like to become a FUNd Run Family Sponsor, a donation of $250 will help offset the event costs so the school recognizes the full value of donations and registrations. Fund Run Sponsors will receive 2 adult run shirts, 2 20 oz. mister water bottles, 2 groovy sunglasses, inclusion on our race banner, and our gratitude. WHAT: Austin International School's Peace, Love & Rock n Roll Run
WHEN: Friday, May 20, 2022 during the school day
WHO: Students, faculty, staff, and AIS families to help cheer
WHERE: Austin International School, 4001 Adelphi Lane Austin, TX 78727
HOW: $20 entry fee per child participant to cover the cost of registration t-shirt and all the fun! All registered children will get an event t-shirt based on availability.

BEFORE THE RUN
*Register for the event by filling out the separate online registration with a $20 payment by Tue., 5/10/22.

*Donate on this page or collect pledges from family and friends based on how many laps your student can complete around the school or in flat donations.

THE DAY OF THE RUN
* Get plenty of rest, bring your refillable water bottle from home, and eat a good breakfast and lunch to stay energized! (WE WILL NOT HAVE DISPOSABLE CUPS - YOU MUST BRING A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE FOR THE WATER STATION)

* Celebrate the day and get pumped by showing your school Spirit. Wear any retro outfits, school blue, and green colors in creative ways: tie-dye or rocker attires, face paint, bows, ribbons, hair, etc., and/or your fun race shirt.

THE RUN!
*Students will walk or run around the perimeter of the school (approx .2 miles) as many times as they want within a one-hour time period. Parents may attend during that grade to cheer students on and are welcome to run with your kids.
*After your laps, enjoy a fun treat and refreshments.

SCHEDULE:

• PS & MS - 9:30 - 10:00
• GS & CP - 10:30 - 11:30
• CE1 & CE2 - 12:00 - 1:00
• CM1 & up - 1:30 - 2:30

AFTER THE RUN
*Collect the funds and turn them in with your pledge form to the school anytime until May 31st based on the # of laps run.

If someone can’t be present to run, they can still register to get the run swag and collect flat donations to support AIS.
